Launch methodology: source-based comparison

Our current guides compare official manufacturer specifications, compatibility documentation and public product information. We have not completed hands-on testing of every product we cover, and we say so near the top of each commercial guide.

We do not publish numeric scores, star ratings or 'tested by us' language without a documented test. Source-based fit statements are labeled as editorial interpretation.

The criteria we use

We apply the same practical questions across products:

  • Readability: published display information, brightness information and text controls where available.
  • Compatibility: supported phones, operating systems, companion apps and region limitations.
  • Battery: manufacturer-rated estimates with the relevant mode clearly stated.
  • Cost: current public price where verified, plus required subscriptions, optional services and carrier plans.
  • Everyday use: notifications, paired-phone requirements and everyday activity features.
  • Trade-offs: platform lock-in, charging frequency, complexity and missing published details.

How ownership affects our work

Senior Wearable Guide is owned by the company behind HealthWatch. That company sells a featured product and may benefit from purchases. We place that disclosure near the headline on commercial pages and repeat it in the footer.

We describe the HealthWatch product's limitations alongside its strengths, link to original sources and do not call this site independent or unbiased.

Corrections and future testing

Specifications and prices change. Each launch article carries a verification date and source list. Readers can report corrections through our contact page.

When we add hands-on testing, we will publish the protocol, sample conditions and date. Until then, source-based guides will remain clearly labeled.
